 This program is designed to discuss these issues and how today’s fire officer and senior firefighter can mold a company / department of “Street-Smart Firefighters”. Emphasis will be on the role of the company officer. Topics to be discussed will include:

Evaluating ourselves as leaders

History – How it can affect our success

Modern Fire Behavior & Construction’s effect on fire attack

Vent-Enter- Isolate & Search, is it practical in the urban and rural setting

Size-up & Effective Radio Communications

“The 10 Minute Drill” – motivating our people to want to learn

Dealing with “Dinosaur Eggs”

 Mark Gregory has over 30 years of firefighting experience. He currently serves as a Captain in the FDNY assigned to Division 15 in Brooklyn. Previously, he served as a Captain in Ladder 142 and Division 13, a Lieutenant in Tower Ladder 111 (The Nuthouse Truck) and as a Firefighter in Brooklyn’s Rescue 2 and Ladder 132(The Eye of theStorm). Mark instructs for the FDNY Academy in the Annual Education Day and Flashover Training programs. He also instructs at the Suffolk County Fire Academy and is the Lead Instructor for FDIC’s HOT Program “Man vs. Machinery” which is taught by P.L. Vulcan Fire Training Concepts LLC.

A $20 Donation to the Sacramento Area Widows and Orphans fund is suggested but not required for attendance
